I bought the GM Syncromesh Transmission Fluid - Friction Modified and I was wondering if its the right one for my tranny. Its a B16 transmission.
The GM Syncromesh bottle part number is #12377916, I bought it today.
On the back it say its for 1500 transmissions, is that a GM thing? Or a type of transmission?

I think most people in here are going to tell you to use the Honda brand transmission oil. When I didn't know any better I used regular old engine oil on my old car. By doing that it made it harder to put in gear when it was cold out.

lol its not that your wrong there are many people here that use nothing but honda transmision fluid. Many use gm syncromesh some use penzoil stuff everybody has their thing that they feel comfortable with because of their experiences with that product. I've been using syncromesh for a while now on more than one honda and i've never had a problem so i continue to use it until someone shows me conclusive evidence that some thing else is WAY better.

It's fine. I've been using GM part #12377916 in my D- and B-series transmissions for years now.

its kinda a band-aid fix, but yeah some people have said their grinds went away after swiching to syncromesh...

I bought my EG with a 1st gear grind and a slight 2nd gear grind when cold. Bought MTF, ran it for 1500 miles + , nothing happened. Bought Synchromesh, and the grind was gone within a couple days if that.

will I need a tube to reach the fill hole on the transmission? Ive seen threads that state on how to fill it elsewhere but they either have no pictures, or dead links to pictures.
