Default killer power in 1st,2nd but third and on sucks

94 civic EX JDM B16 crane stage 2? (253-0012) S2 mani,S2springs,AEM CAI ,cheap header,2.5 o.d. exhaust,phearable chipped ECU,walbro 255lph,stock injectors,clutch ,tranny.
I raced my friends Rex w/stock obdo B16 and chipped ECU If I drove right I ripped him pretty good in 1 and 2 but third my car was so slow it was like he was spraying on me. (no he wasnt hes a friend) I know a few times it was my fault I was so excited to have this car back on the road I drove shitty But third gear just made no sense. Previous to this I had a vtec press switch code and bypassed it this morning vtec engages fine and all just not as powerful as this car should be. But then again I am running on Johns basemap too any thoughts or suggestions?

if you got cams in there, then you might want to tune to get the maximum power outta them. you might even be losing power right now because you might be too rich or too lean and timing might be off

What he said, most of the time you rip through first gear anyway so it's not the best way to gauge whether or not you've gained anything. You could also be "tricked" into thinking you have more power if you've got a torque spike somewhere as a result of the mods. Long story short, get it tuned first.
