Default Brand New ITR Engine

Hey guys. I am new here. I have a 95 GSR and the engine blew twice. I am trying not to fix this engine again so after looking, I've found a brand new ITR engine, from a dealer in CA for $3450. All the internals are already installed, all I have to do is put the head and block together. Is that a good price for a brand new engine from the dealer??
Please let me know your opinions on this. I plan to buy very soon. Thank you

Sounds cheap.

What dealer, and where'd you hear about it?

They only have 4 more left. I will let you know what dealer it is. I actually bought a brand new ITR Tranny for $1650 shipped. But that was another dealer. But I guess they just have the engines and trying to get rid of them quickly...thought they had them listed for over 6 months now

thanks...I didnt' get it yet but I am going to buy it sometime this week.....
I'm just doing some research. So far I know the price is very good.
But my question is, since I have a 95 GSR, would it be easy to install?
I mean, my concern is with ODB1 and ODB2??

Those motors are usually complete. He is referring to a block & head. He'll still need a valve cover, dizzy, vtec solenoid, headgasket, maybe head bolts/studs, etc...

I thought about buying these blocks & heads myself. It sure does give a piece of mind... but you are paying a premium.

I think i know where you're buying the ITR engine from, and ya that dealer is great. I've bought a lot of stuff from him, and I think its a great price.

Dealers will always try to skin you when it comes to pricing, so watch out.

not this one....I've spoken to them...they're just trying to get rid of the engines. They say not too many people buy from dealer or even look since all dealer sells their stock overpriced....so they're selling it cheaper. Comes w/ 1 year warranty and also you can return if you aren't happy with what you bought.

If that is really 100% true it doesn't sound like a bad idea.

sounds good....but check prices for all the other necessary parts as well....or your project may end up putting a bigger dent in your wallet than you expected...

If you already have a DOHC VTEC B Series motor then who cares if it doenst come with VC, VTEC sol, Dizzy and other stuff. The only thing you would have to buy is the stuff to connect the head to the block.

You will need an intake manifold, the correct intake, and a throttle cable + miscellaneous stuff.

When I purchased a brand new head, it came with a new vtec solenoid. It did not come with cam gears, valve cover, dizzy, headgasket, and bolts/studs. As for the valve cover, it's actually pretty cheap. The ITR valve cover is cheaper than the GSR valve cover.
