Default How to install JDM "Free Box" DIN size storage cup holder into EG Civic audio console?

Has anybody installed this in his EG standard radio location or in audio console? Please let me know how to do it? I don't know should I need some universal metal cages or a installation kit to fit.

Dimension of the cup holder: 7" Wide x 5" Deep x 2" High - STANDARD DIN SIZE.

I did the lazy way too...I installed an old radio cage and pushed it in...it actually fit nice and snug and I dont need to screw it in. The only downside is you see a little of the metal from the cage on the sides. It doesnt bug me though. The only drinks you can fit are regular canned drinks though. I was debating changing the location, but too lazy for now.

same problem with me.. ive been debating taking the monitor out and putting the cup holder up there with some custom cut plexy glass with the radio on the bottom.. but i like watching tv so i will keep debating lol. (monitor on the bottom will have an akward angle, making it gay for viewing.)

I'd say do what others have done and just get an old radio box and shove it in there. You could probably bend the box so it locks onto the cup holder too

Wanted to bring this topic back to life...I just picked one up myself and noticed its not exactly a snug fit to say the least....and putting it in the bottom audio console sort of limits the size of drinks you can put it in it...and putting it in the factory cd player spot would be blocking the air controls if you constantly have a drink in there.

Wanted to see if anyone else had done custom installs of these things.

I was thinking of fabricating something up...maybe even use the space on the dash right above the glove compartment..

Wouldnt mind seeing some pics if anyone has any custom installs.

It won't fit into EG's DIN and I am not sure about audio console though. It is too small to fit into the slot and I need to glue a black plastic trim around the front of the cupholder, which comes from aftermarket stereo (to cover the sliding sleeve and extra exposed area vs. the stock stereo). Also I drill hole and attach a bracket to the cupholder so with the bracket, the cupholder can be mounted at where the stock radio mounts using a screw.
