Okay, I'm reallly bad with 4 cylinders and hondas so if you could just bear with my incompetence for a bit I'd appreciate it..
I Have a completely stock motor in a '95 EX (D16Z6), have a CAI, haven't put it in yet because my rad resevoir mount is crushed and I can't remove the stokc intake system yet or the res'll be hanging by a hose...In any event, headers, high flow cat, and exhaust are gonna be bought shortly, which leads to my questions:
A: Which are better, 4-2-1 headers, or 4-1 headers, I'd asume 4-1 headers because each one would have a more direct air flow and there'd be less resistance, if anybody could clarify this, plz do
B: After I have the basic stock upgrades (I/H/E) I wanna upgrade it a bit more, I realize it's a D16Z6 and as for all motor potential it doesn't really have much, and that if I really wanted more power I'd be going for a B18C5 or C1 or something to taht effect, but I dont' want to swap as if I did I'd just get a better/faster car for more power...but I don't, I wanna keep this civic, but not swap it (not now anyways). What else can I do to keep it na (I don't wanna turbo it) to give it a lil more punch, I figure I hear it puts out 127 stock, so even if you go down and say it puts out 120 stock, or 100, whatever, basic is the I/H/E only probably adds 20-35MAX horsepower I'd assume even with name brand parts, so you do the math (about 130-157, depending on what it has now), so what else can I do without going internals with titanium valve springs, and lightweight flywheels and such.. I'm figuring the only 2 things i can do is skunk 2 IM and a bigger TB, I have bigger injectors (I have to figure out how much bigger they are) but I don't think that'll do much w/o a computer pumping more gas (which reminds me, I don't wanna run a chipped P28 because I don't want it running rich/wasting gas)
So what am I left with, performance IM and bigger TB, is that it?
Any suggestions are welcome,

Your going to have to decide #1 If you really want to invest much in your d-series motor, as you will have enough in it before long that you could have bought an entire swap
All the things you DON'T want to do are your biggest power adders. I would get your bolt ons first CAI, Header, Exhaust. Your going to need some type of fuel adjustment method to do much else, If not chipping your p28 then something like a VAFC. To make any real power your going to need to need to upgrade your cam, and this will require upgrading your valve train. I would look into AKMEE as they seem to have a nice package for the sohc motor.

so obviously w/o dumping an assload of money into this engine for internals (d16z6) or going FI it really has no future of having power ;(
Internals are expensive, whew O.o
