after you clean it, purchase 303 protectant. Its usually used for convertible tops, boat tonneaus, and **** like that. Seals it up and the top doesn't fade in color

Before I removed my soft top, I used Porsche brand convertible top cleaner. It's a very mild detergent to clean the top and you can use it to wash the car if you don't mind the expensive price. To protect the top, I used Porsche brand aerosol spray, carefully covering the general of the car except the top since you don't want to get that spray on any rubber weather stripping or body paint. It's nice to see water really bead up on the top and have a nice dark black color to it.

I've heard mixed reviews of the Porsche protectant, since it's made for a canvas top. I don't think it's going to damage the top at all, but I'd rather get 303 or other protectants made for vinyls.

Not a great photo, but...

for sure....i think its a good topic if u asked me....i tried searching for it but couldnt find it. Im a big fan of the hard top but until i can afford 1 i wanna keep mine clean. If the 303 protectant works like that id prefer to use it. Though i did stop by the auto supply store and didnt see it. Ima call another shop tommarow. Looks good bro Stay Clean!

I bought mine in9/09/04. The next spring I used Saino and RagTop on the car. I've been extremely pleased with both. I plan to do the same in a week or two. I also have to say that I only drive mine on my days off (2 days per week), Have had it out on a few trips for up to a week, and keep it covered when it's not being used. So that might have something to do with these products lasting so long.

303's are used for boats, mainly. You can find it at your local boat supply store.

The Honda soft top isn't 100% vinyl, it's a blend of various materials. The preparation is very important before spraying any protectant on the top. I'm **** so that might be why things turned out well. I noticed the top had a nice sheen to it after the treatment, similar to the effect of viewing certain patterns with polarized sunglasses. I always washed the top first with the Porsche shampoo, car was always garage parked, etc etc.
