i just finished my mini me swap on a d16a6 block and its great. but after driving it around the check engine light came on and it would die instead of idle, so i check to code and it was the throttle postion senor, my question to any one is what does it do and to fix it do i need a new throttle body or just the senor. and is to senor built into the casting.

ooo and it is multi port injection.

Could either be that the sensor is broken or that you need to adjust the sensor. You didn't happen to mix up the MAP and TPS sensor plugs when you put everything back did you?

 

i didn't mess with the manifold. i unbolted it form the head and moved it back. and now it dies. i have upped the idle i little but it didn't help all that much.

 

so you did not have to install a tps when you swapped stuff around? if you ever had the tps off the throttle body you will have to adjust it according to specs... heres a nice writeup on that matter:
