Why doesn't anyone make front lca's out of aluminum
I know there have to be some engineers on here that can answer this. It seems like a no-brainer to lighten up some unsprung weight from the front of the car by replacing the oem front lower control arms with some quality aftermarket aluminum pieces. I've found several manufacturers that make rears, but I want fronts. Vettes have them and I recently read something that seemed to indicate the jdm type r had front aluminum pieces. My EG needs to shed some pounds, someone help a brotha out!
You will need to do a alot of re-engineering to make this feasible, and gigantic bushing to dissapate vibration. just go steel tubular to reduce weight. LCA weight helps lower center of gravity also however. I have two new vehicles - BMW X5 4.4 and have had to have all the suspension components replaced under warranty as bushing are all shot to hell, Audi was a complete pain in the as as there are like 5 arms per side that need repalacement.
