Turbo integra ls should I swap to gsr or si tranny
I was wondering if I should change from my Ls tranny to a gsr or si tranny. Would it help as in speed. Low end or high end. Any input would help thanks.
ls tranny will give you longer gear ratios for higher top speed and better gas milage...wheras an si tranny would give the best low end and accelleration...and the gsr would be in between the two....
Im sure someone can chime in with the final drive ratios if you really want to know the exacts

The ls is a dog when it comes to accleration get a gsr or b16 tranny and swap your LS 5th gear in it. Best of both worlds

good idea. I would suggest getting the GS-R tranny.

Also the ls tranny will let you stay in the boost longer and give you better HP. I wouldnt swap a gsr tranny on a 65 hundred redline.

Incorrect. Shorter gear ratios will ALWAYS be faster. Horsepower remains the same, but mechanical advantage increases with shorter ratios. The original poster will need to decide whether he wants better gas mileage/higher top speed, or faster acceleration/lower top speed.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring the "longer gearing is better for boost" arguement. If you think that is the case, start in fifth gear.

I have a GSR tranny mated to my B18B at 8psi. works great for me. 4k rpm at 80 mph.
GSR to LS 1st and 2nd are the same numerically, but the GSR has a shorter (numerically higher) final drive of 4.40 compared to the LS 4.26.
3rd 4th and 5th are shorter on the GSR.
