H22a in eg 4door
hey i was lookin on the internet and came accross a pretty much complete engine swap and its an automatic h22a and i was wondering about clearence issues in a 1993 civic sedan is it to tall for the hood to clear? i read somewhere that u have to custom mount it lower in the engine bay but u cant beleive everything u read. would this be possible without to much custom fab? and 200 horse motor for $1500 seems nice to me even tho it is an automatic i just want to add some spice to my daily driver. thanks
oh yea i did search didnt find anything that i need to know

Yeh you need to change out the motor mounts among many other things. Unless you know what you are doing this is the last swap you want to do. Its cheap because of the install difficulty. I don't know much about the engine but I do know that many things have to be changed out and once you are said and done, it will not be much cheaper than a B-series swap. Check out the post by Ricey McRicerton for swap and engine info. Its in the stickies.
yea the weight difference they point out in that thread doesnt bother me and 200hp and the 154 lb ft of torque make up for that i think and its not like weight is a problem its gonna be my daily driver not my weekend racer, i have another one for that andcivics are light anyway and b swaps are to common dont get me wrong if i could choose my motor i would for sure go b series but the b series i want conflicts with my wallet and my automatic car that im not going to convert because i need atleast one auto
I totally agree. You should consider boosting a d-series, thats what I plan to do. 1. Its different and 2. its cheaper than a B and for the most part they perform pretty close. I just dont want to spark up some D vs. B arguement so I will leave it at that. Whatever you choose to do, goodluck man, I want to see the results.
