all you have to do is punch it out with a philips screw driver or nail or whatever you want and hammer it out. takes 5 secs

no, Just unbolt it from the shifter and pull the trans off along with the linkage.

Unbolt the shift linkage from the Bottom of your shifter, and just pull it out along with the transmission,
it's not exactly easy to get that pin out from Under the car, unless it was on a lift.

yea, that's the "bitch pin" your best bet it so unbolt the linkage like FlatBlackTeg said cuz it's not worth the bullshit trying to get that damn thing out. I've gotten one out before out of 6 or 7 trannies I've worked on... they're a bitch plain and simple

yea tell me about it. as hard as it was to get out, it also took a good pounding to get it back in. my arms were so freaking tired after that.

i just use an 3/8" and then 1/4" socket extension and pound that. it works pretty good.

I didn't even consider trying to remove the bitch pin when I swapped my clutch. I just removed the linkage from the bottom of the shifter as stated earlier. Once the tranny is out, you have more room if you are determined to pound it out. Good luck to you.

try using PB Blaster the same **** happened to me when i was removing my tranny, if not drill the bitch out and use a bolt a nut to hold it when you put it back together.

If you want to get the pin out get pb blaster and soak it good many times. The tool you need to remove it is called a roll pin punch. It is a regular looking punch, but has a little ball on the top of the pin to keep it centered on the pin. I believe it is a 8mm punch that you need. And finally a BFH-Big Effing Hammer. Atleast a 3 pound hammer. It will come out with that. I dont even mess with the small hammers. I have never had one not come out and i say i've probably taken over 40 out, from newer cars to 80's civics.
