Default Lets Discuss Centerforce Clutches

I have installed many clutches, clutchnet, cluthmasters, act, etc. The prices of the clutches for imports went up siginficantly as more customers started buying. Centerforce clutches are fairly cheap, especially the dual friction clutches. A lot of my buddies with 400hp+ vettes, comaro's, mustangs use them. Does anybody on this board use centerforce dual frictions on a high hp b series motor? I did a search and nothing came up.

its an ok clutch, dont know how good it would be for a HIGH hp honda though,on hondas i dont think they use those little weights on the pp cause of space concerns. at least on my civic dual friction it did'nt. chatters a bit on take off too but thats no biggie. imo theres much better out there, the clutchnet i have now blows the centeforce away. i only paid $300 from ben@importparts.com

How long did u have the centerforce before it gave out on you? Chatter?, centerforce from what i have driven is not a chattery clutch at all.

i had for about a year no problems before i swapped my engine, it only chattered in 1st gear, not alot, but you could hear it. maybe it was just mine. i had the top one they make "dual friction" 90% more holding power...etc... imo it's an OK clutch, if you spend a little more youll get much better. imo i dont think the dual friction could handle HIGH HP (btw how much hp you plan on running?) from what ive heard from people w/ different cars that use the "centrifugal" pp (the pp w/ the weights) that it's a killer pp desing and grabs like a sob! i'm not sure if they make it for the "b" series trannies, i know they dont for the sohc.

so far ive used centerforce, ACT and Clutchnet, and ive driven my friends car w/ a clutchmasters stage 3 and i love my ClutchNet stage 2 hands down,

Yeah the make the dual friction for the b series motor. I might throw one in my car, its not really high hp. For another car I am building, we might go with a custom clutch setup. I think your chatering came from not resurfacing the flywheel during your install. A lot of people don't do the resurface because most of the time the flywheel is fine, but it helps out to do it, so u don't get chatter down the road. Thanks for the input.

I have a turbo b18b with the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch in it. I have had no problems at all. I am running only 7 pounds right now, but will soon be running 12psi. The clutch was installed about 15,000 miles ago and when I removed it to fix my tranny 3,000 miles ago the surface still looked new.

If you want to know if it grabs, well I had to fix my tranny because I launched at the drag strip at 4,000 and dumped the clutch. Next thing I knew BAM! I shattered my dif and shot it right out of the tranny case!

OH. And as far as the heavy pedal? Non-existant on the Centerforce. It is as soft as a factory one, but grabs like a beotch.
