Is it possible? I have some aftermarket rods that fit a d15, and was planning to throw them in a motor to boost. Trying to do this on a budget, so I didn't know if aftermarket pistons were needed. I dont know what brand they are but they are I-beam type rods.
I would think that if they are the same size as the stock rods it would work. Get a micrometer and check the size of both rods where the piston pin goes, and if they are the same then i would slap them in their.......I know your doing this on a budget and all but if your going to boost the hell out of it, trade those rods for some forged pistons cause wouldnt a piston go before a rod?
Most aftermarket rods are designed to use floating wrist pins that are held in place by clips in the pistons.OEM pins are pressed in the rods and the OEM pistons don't have clips in the pistons.Stock pistons can be machined for clips but there goes the budget.
