I don't know about where most everyone else gets their apexi filters, but when I got mine from someone online, It didn't come with the adapter, and even if it did, it owuldn't help me because I wanted this filter on my injen short ram intake. anyways, I'm making an adapter that bolts up to the filter and will clamp onto teh end of a 3" diameter short ram intake.. If anyone would be interested in one of these, let me know, so when I make them, I can make up a bunch more. they will be only a few inches long so you won't need to worry about your filter being too far forward in th engine bay. these will also work for cold air intakes as well. I plan on powdercoating them black or something so it doesn't look ugly. if anyone is interested, let me know so I can make a bunch..
