Default Car not running right.

Ok I was driving my gsr, and I noticed the valves ticking real loud, so I bring her home and just leave her in the garage and the next day I attempt to start her. Doesn't start at all. Month later I finally had some time to work on the car, so I messed with the dizzy and got her to turnover atleast but not start. Weeks later got her to finally start and run right, and suprisingly no valve ticking. So I decide to take her out for a spin, I drive for about a mile then the car starts to bog and wanna die, unless I give her some gas. Then came home and took out the fuel pump and tested it, and it was completely dead, so I put in a new one and now car starts, but doesn't wanna stay at idle and sounds like a damn subaru. Someone please help! Sorry for long post.

Are you throwing any codes? Sounds like you should be throwing a bunch if it sounds like a Subaru.

Did you do anything to the car, modification wise or misshift at any point before this? How out of spec are the valves? You can check pretty quick with a feeler gauge.

What do you mean when you "messed with the dizzy?" Timing could have been off. Also what modifications do you have on the car already?

Just throwing code 3, I believe the code is manifold absolute pressure (map sensor). Car is all stock except for rs-r axleback and when I meant messed with the dizzy I meant retimed it. No clue to what it could be.

Yes, that is a Manifold Absolute Pressure code. When that gets funky, the car will run funny. Do you have a chance/means to swap it with one that you know is working? Try that.

I see your car is a 94, right? Have you misshifted recently? When was the last time you did do a valve adjustment? Should be done every 30K miles or so.

Yea, I will try and get ahold of one. I misshifted a couple of times awhile back not recently tho. I have a highmileaged motor, and I hope I didn't bend a valve or have a stuck valve, but if the map sensor doesnt solve it, I guess im going to have to attempt a valve lash.
