Default Noisy Valves

So after my rebuild, which had nothing to do with the top end, and after setting the valve lash, .006 & .007, I started my caR and the valves were making a ton of noise. My caR has always been noisy but not like this. Even after letting it warm up they still made lots of noise. I am ging to go back and readjust everything, but I don't think that it will make much difference.

So does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I could check? Thanks in advance

Readjust it it .004 and .006. Dont forget to check your oil and make sure you have pressure. Did you prime the pump before putting it together.

ain't .004 and .006 result in too tight valves?
it could be you're LMA making that noise.

after putting the bc3+ in my head and adjusted them to the buddy club spec does it make ticking noise. but since it is after manufactures spec would i guess it would be okay.

stiffer valvesprings? maybe the valves are opening/closing with more force and making more noise. my crower springs with RC injectors are loud as **** even when perfectly adjusted.

It might just be from collapseing the lifters when you checked the lash. Did you check the lash on the engine cold? Also, I have some slack between the distributor and the cam shaft on my R and it kinda makes the same noise.

Well I have had this head set-up for a while now, JUN III's, with all the valvetrain goodies, RC 440's, I did the valve lash while the engine was cold, the pump was primed. It does not sound like an injector noise, it sounds more slappy or ticky.
I have not had a chance to go back and play with things since I fired it up two weeks ago. Do you think that it is safe to try going with a tighter clearence?

anytime Ive tried to run on the tight side of spec, it always seems to make the car feel bogged down. I usually run middle to loose (within spec) as far as valve clearance goes and just check them often.
