Quick PLX question for hondata

I want to hook it up for both narrowband and wideband. Obviously you can't use them both at the same time but the directions to use them different on the part of the o2 heater part confuse me. one says
Widband: Connect a 1K Ohm resistor across the +12V heater and heater ground wires (two black wires on the sensor side). This can be obtained from your local Radio Shack. 1KOhm with 5% tolerance 1/4 watt power rating will work fine. This eliminates error code 41(heated oxygen sensor error) and "fools" the ECU to think that a sensor is present and is properly being heated. The ECU will still function normally even if you get the error code.
Narrowband: Install the 20 Ohm, 10 Watt load resistor to prevent the engine check error code. This allows your ECU to "think" that your stock narrowband sensor is still being heated. This resistor can be obtained from your local radio shack or electronics store. If 20 Ohms is not available, two 10 Ohm, 10 Watt resistors connected in series (not parallel) will also work.
So do you have to change the heater section if you want to run wideband or narrowband, and also would you have to switch between white wire and gray wire to switch between wideband and narrowband. I have done some extensive searching on both honda-tech and hondata's forums and not gettting a definitive answer.
