Default Help with auto transmission

I just bought a 98 acura 2.3CL with only 70,000 miles and it started to shift hard. I read in the owners manual that not using Honda ATF then it can cause shift problems. I have no way of knowing if the previous owner used Honda ATF, so I was wondering if the Honda fluid is maybe a different color? Right now it has plenty of fluid and it is a light red color. Any help with this would be great, thanks.

Honda auto transmissions suck, mostly accord transmissions from 90-02 start hard shifting, then not down shifting, then not moving forward later on down the road.

Go ahead and do the Honda ATF, i'm sure it won't work, but it's worth a shot.
