Default removing super glue on car?

I decided to take out the "DOHC VTEC" sticker on the back of the car, problem is the Original owner glued it with Super glue. Anyone know a way to get rid of it without damaging the paint job? It looks really nasty too

have you tried "goo gone" ?

maybe nail polish remover I don't know if that will damage the paint though.. might want to test it somewhere thats not visible.

You can try "debonder" it might eat the paint. I dont know as I have onyl used it for models. It eats cyanoacrylate super glues. which most super glues are made of. go to a hoby store (not michael's) but a true RC/ plstic models store. or model train store and ask for debonder.

it is suppsed to also get super glue off you hands.

ammonia eats away at adhesives. I don't think it'll eat away at the paint.

its the best known way to get glue off of things. you heat it up so it gets back to its liquid state and goo gone it.

i havent done it with super glue though..but i would imagine it would work. worst comes to worst...you only wasted 5-10 minutes.

If it gives you too much trouble, just use either 1500 or 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand it off. Once you're done you need to use some rubbing compound to take out the scratches and then buff it with some wax and you'll be good as new. If you're not sure about it just do a test spot so you can see if you can get the scratches out. I'd use a buffer, but if you don't have one you should be able to remove 2000 grit scratches by hand but like I said, do a test spot.

i had to do it to one of my customers cars before. he glued the emblems to the car and the only way we got the glue off was to wet sand and then buff out the scratches
