need help launching
i have a 94 civic dx hb with a b18b1 block je 11.5 pistons, eagle rods, nuformz block guard, walbro 255 fuel pump, I,H,E , and a stock gsr head....but i just need to work on my launching...im getting 2.3 over and over....i have some shitty *** tires, but i wanna improve my 60ft with those tires so i can understand launches better, i know 2.3 is crappy but i just wanna know some tips
Well first try lowering the pressure to 17psi. That works for me, and Launch at like 4k. If you dont get good amount of wheel spin raise up the launch to 5k but play around there and play with the clutch and gas in first gear, once you hook up good mash the gas and slam into 2nd. This is the most important place where your suppose to gain traction so u get the best time.
Well the tires could be the super reason, but if you dont wanna change them then try dropping the pressure in them...17psi sounds about right...Instead of dumping the clutch try slipping it more until you can feel the car actually hook..A problem i know some of my friends were having at the track is there not watching the actual 60ft. mark and shifting right before or on the mark and that will kill your time...make sure you are passing these traps before shifting..Also, try launching around 5k, you dont wanna bog the car and at the same time you dont wanna put yourself into a dead spin or axel hop..
just a suggestion someone correct me if im wrong. if your car makes enough power you could also try launching in 2nd gear and maybe 5.5k rpms. i was told that due to me having the h2b setup and when i run the car thats what i do but i still have a problem spining thats due to my tires and need traction bar.
