d16 head swap?
well guys, i am selling my CB7 to a friend and getting the civic that is at home. Its a 2000 lx 4 door, and i like 4 doors, easier for others to sit in. Anyways, its a d16y7 i wanted to change the block to the b16, but right now its kinda costly. So i am just planning to change the head on it. I wanna change it to the VTEC head and was wondering if the d16y8 head fits on it. Its an auto LX my civic and i plan to later on put the ex tranny on there. For right now it has around 54,000 miles on it and it runs great and i just want more power than 109 hp. I wanted to do internals on the d16y8 head and beef it up to a considerable amount of power.
What is all that i need to do the head conversion? intake manifold, head, and what else? those are the olny two things that i have been able to find out.
Please help me.
What is the potential of the d16y8 engines with internals, and not turbos or anything?
Also, how much would a b16a full swap cost around?

You need alot more stuff, computer, iacv, knock sensor, cat, TB the old throttle cable works, its just a little longer, http://www.ff-squad.com has good wiring info. don't expect a huge amount of power, the swaps only going to make the car an EX, hope this helps, do a lot of research before attempting anything
