I've searched but could really find the right answear.
So I'm putting a OBD1 GSR into my 96 civix CX. I have the 96-98 LX wiring harness. By using the LX wiring harness I don't have to wire in the VTEC. I also have a OBD2a to OBD1 conversion harness because I'm using an OBD1 ECU.

What is all needed to be rewired?

I also have a OBD1 GSR harness.

 

By using the LX harness you don't need to wire in VTEC? WTF? Why not? LX's don't have VTEC.


Ok, OBDII-A SOHC harness on OBDI C1, then you have an OBDI conversion harness.

Why not just pick up a 94-95 GSR harness, then plug n play?

Or pick up an OBDII P72, 96+ GSR oil pump/crank sensor, then wire VTEC with the LX harness?

Ok, maybe you like things confusing then.

Wire in VTEC oil pressure and solenoid switch, wire in knock sensor, then tape your crank sensor harness to the rest of the harness somewhere so that it doesn't get eaten up by the belts. Use your stock CX injectors if you don't want to mod the injector harness, if you do want to chop up your harness, then pick up some OBDI injector clips and wire the in.

Then you're done.

I'd personally pick up a 96 GSR harness and crank sensor, then have a fully legit swap, but eh, whatever.
