Default Fa1 Fog Light Install

I just purchased a 06' Ex Sedan the other day and I bought some fog lights as well. My dealer said they would hook me up and install them for $100 (I got the employee discount so the fogs only cost me $235) but I'd like to try and install them myself. They printed me up a set of directions (its like 15 pages long) but it seems a little complicated. Has anyone here yet to install fogs on the new 06 civics and how difficult was it? How long would it take a noob who had all the necessary tools and a friend or two? Thanks

Compliments of SonicK20Z [....]

This is for all of you with 06 Civics who plan on getting the fogs but would prefer to do it yourself on the install (I'm sure the labor quote isn't a pretty one). Note: This guide is based on an Si, and may be slightly different for other trims. If you have any questions, please refer to the instruction manual provided with the kit.

Feel free to ask any questions or for more in depth detail on any step. And if you have any other suggestions or comments to add please post them up as well! Hope you find this helpful. Oh yea, please excuse the dirty car!

Disclaimer: These are the pics I took of nearly almost every step while following the provided installation guide. These pics are not a substitute for the actual installation instructions and should not be treated as such. They are only for a visual tool to aid and assist you in your installation. I am not responsible if you mess up along the way. :D

There are 30 pics in all.

EDIT: The following image is looking up under the dash while lying on your back. The fuse box would be to the right and the center console to the left from this view.

The end!

Dealer wanted $319+300 installation. $620 for foglights? HA!

bought some yellow lamin-x too, can't wait to install them myself.

Thanks Type X for SonicK20z's write up. Looks like I'll have to set aside a day off and crank this out. Just a note for those with 4 doors: we don't get a cool little switch like the coupe / si. We get a little **** that looks like the same **** you turn on your headlights with that attaches to the side of the steering wheel.

Is there something in the sedan that is already where the switch would be in the coupe?

Talk about being a bitch to do. I just had a horrible day installing my fogs. It took more hours than I'd like to admit. I guess I suck at life or something but it was nothing like an EJ1 installation. Damn new cars suck!

If I would have known how long it would have taken ME, I would have paid $100. I have the cuts to prove it.

Just have to pull it off slowly but firmly. Start at the front and work your way back.
