Best ECU for a B18B???????
hey hey..
im gettin a 94 civic with a B18B4 engine in about a month (yea they brought some out here in South Africa with B18B's already installed
so i was just wondering what the best ECU wud be to use with the B18B??? ie do i get it chipped/ piggyback/ standalone????
gonna be putting on cone air filter, and header and 2.25" exhaust shortly after i get the car... and im looking to do the ECU... i just dunno which one gives best mid/upper range power...
in the future i'l be doing flywheel and cam and valve springs too...

Its pointless. You're just dumping more fuel for maybe 1hsp. But do what you want

wait so if i understand this right, doin ecu wont realy have any effect if u havent done cams and stuff?? what all do i need to do to benefit from chipping??
sorry im such a nOOb...

u can chip a ecu to give u more fuel and a longer rev, but it is very pointless if your just using a intake exhaust and header, once u get DEEP inside then u will need it, head work or block work, just stick with the stock ECU
you could spends hundreds of dollors getting it chipped and tuned an maybe get like 5 hp.....or you could save the few hundred dollors and get a turbo kit...than you would need to chip/tune the ecu.....
if the motor is stock from valve cover the oil pan...than the ecu should be stock as well...end of story.
