info on my motor

Default info on my motor

i bought a d16z6 from canada, iwant to knwo some specs on the motor, it is stamped a d16z6 and is from a 95 canadian si. The thing is that in nuetral it will rev till 8k rpms. Also on the highway i wont hit redline and my tachs reading 7500 rpms. How come??? Its a stock p28 ecu.

it should redline at 7200

thats the thing, even in nuetral i can rev it to 8k rpms.

umm?? well first of all... it's 127hp.. on the highway... as in your in 5th gear at 7500????

how the hell fast are you going.. I know a 5th and 4grand i'm at 140km....

(I may be wrong but...) Doesn't the rev limiter only kick in when you're in gear? I've accidentally revved my z6 past 7500RPMs a couple of times (when I've mis-shifted which technically means it was in neutral for that split second).

if the rev limiter only worked in gear that would defeat the purpose of having it for misshifts, your tach is off.

i meant hitting redline in 1st ,2nd, 3rf, or 4th. I know on my old motor (d16y7) i felt redline , now i dont

i checked my tach using auto engenuity, it is off by 200 rpms. not by 1thousand

if you arent hitting the rev limiter then your tach is off and you said it wasnt or the ecu isnt stock and has the rev limiter raised or removed...one of those 2

The ECU doesn't know what gear your in if its a manual trans car, there is absolutely no sensors on the trans other then for the reveres light. Which is why its such a pain to put a remote start on the car, there's no reliable way to know which gear the car is in if its remotely started.

btw im boosted running 5psi with a t3/t4 wats this no no limiter gonna do for me??? blow my motor if i pull in 3rd to 8k??
