techedge problems... searched
ok so I installed a techedge 1.0 to keep an eye on my a/f... and of course like most I am experiencing what seems to be the cold display 10.5 problem.
however I am noticing some other little issues that now have me concerned it could be something else.
for some background information, the unit is being fed power from an accessory feed that is reading 14.2 volts when I test it with a volt meter and has a good earth ground (everything is connected as specified by their manual)... yet the red light on the control unit will not turn on at all (even with the sensor unplugd). on power up the unit does what it is supposed to with the TE.C and 11.c being displayed but then goes right to 10.5 and then nothing.
the display will never change even after warming it up and getting plenty of light on the photosensing eye... which is supposed to be the problem with the display.
I read on the techedge site that other situations could cause similar results but they do not specify what they are? anyone have any ideas or anything that I could try to locate my problem?
although the power source is testing good could I be getting a large enough voltage drop to cause this once I plug back in the fuse?
looking for any help before I spend a fortune in long distance billing trying to call australia.

I went ahead and ordered the upgrade 5301 display chip from techedge thats supposed to fix the cold display problem. Hopefully that fixes the display.
Still curious why the heater on the unit never turns on, from what I understand the rest of my setup should still work as normal... the display will just be incorrect???Going to double check the power supply agian but I dont think thats my problem.
Could a worn out or bad sensor cause this as far as anyone knows? Nothing was mentioned about that in the older threads I read on here about it.
