Default engine question

has anyone ever heard of a vaccum line causing an engine to smoke, ie being hooked up wrong or in the wrong place?

yes it can. if you have a direct vacumm line into the pcv system without the pcv valve, it will smoke like crazy

i'll have to check my shop manuel, but is there any other vaccum line that could possiblly suck oil into the manifold other than the one coming from the pcv system?
