PCV M.I.A.?
Well, motor is coming out soon, but a question before she goes.
The hose runs from the IM directly to the breather chamber. I'm assuming somebody felt that the PCV wasn't necessary?
What is the drawback/downside to this? Increased blow-by?
p.s. She runs like a champ...

Re: (t0p_sh0tta)
the pcv is there for a reason. there is a check valve in there that works on engine vacuum. and there is a srceen that doesnt let oil get through, just the blow by gases. thats why the plugs lok like that, you are sucking oil straight into the engine. this motor must have idled like **** and shot out hella blue smoke

Re: (fmrprojects)
I know what a pcv does. I thought it wasn't there. Motor has 140k on it. Stock D15B8 with bad rings and/or seals. That's why it burns oil. It only smokes a lot when it's cold. After it warms up, it isn't too bad.
BTW: the idle was actually pretty good. 3 of the 4 plugs were identical to that. The last was immaculate. hmm... doesn't sound like the rings.
