no need to swap, the y8 is the best Dseries manifold.

generally the y8 is regarded as one of, if not the best oem D series IM. there isnt much in the way of aftermarket for us, the B series has much more. the only one i can think of off the top of my head is skunk2. if your motor is mostly stock, more than likely the gains will be minimal if anything at all. SMSP had a mild build d16a6 thread a little while back where on one set of runs the sk2 made 3.5ish more, and another run where it made just over 1 more. its up to you as to whether or not the extra 1-3hp is worth the couple hundred dollars for a new one. it seems to me there would be better/cheaper ways of making power.

*edit* just read the other post and i completely forgot edelbrock. id expect similar gains with that vs sk2

exactly, a cam swap would be a more wise choice. the y8 manifold is engineer to deliver enough air for the stock motor, until you bump the incoming air into the combustion chamber theres no need in swapping the IM. IMO
