Is the Falkin Azenis 215 a good drag racing tire?

It's marginally better than a regular all season tire but what differenciates drag radials and normal street radials is the sidewall stiffness on the street radial. Drag radials generally has softer sidewalls for traction purposes.

*sticky on the road course, yes.
**sticky on the drag strip, um yeah... but, not good.--> too stiff of a side wall. hard rubber.==> wheel hop or poor 0-60'

azenis werent made for drag racing. its funny when i hear people say that they hav drag racing tires on all the time and they have azenis. haha.
FYI: Azenis are not DRAG racing tires no matter how the thread design and softer they are compared to regular tires.

i dont recall calling them a drag slick. i have DOT approved NT01 for the track. by the way the azenis pulled a 2.1 60 ft. time with a stock *** B16.

sorry for the confusion, I was recalling other people say they are DRAG slicks. not your post.
2.1 60ft isnt that much diff from a reg radial tire. I've pulled a 1.98 60ft on bridgestone potenzas

I have been looking at different tires for a DOT style drag tire.
Right now, you want a sticky tire with a soft forgiving sidewall. You also want something light to reduce rotational weight.
BFGoodrich drag radials, 225/45-17's:
-purpose built, sticky, soft ss, heavy-23lbs!
-$140 each average shipped.
continental contiextreme 225/45-17:
-light, 20lbs, all season tire. good contact. $115
Toyo t1r or t1s: 225/45-17:
20.9 lbs, track tire, stiff sidewall. $135. can get soft.
Nitto 555r, not available in 225/45-17
nitto -nto1 225/45-17:
d.o.t. approved comp radial. 23 lbs. soft, again track tire, not drag. lot of surface area stick but no sidewall flex.
then there is the m&H drag radial!
There are other options out there. Take the weight for the stick or give a little stick to loose some weight.
I wish the bfgoodrich drag radials were lighter!
You can always let some air out of a regular "R" compuind street tire to induce some extra sidewall flex.
It all comes down to your budget and needs.

What about snow tires? They are light, have soft to the touch pegs, and have soft sidewalls. Those came on my car from japan and work quite well. Have not used them on trackbite though, how do you think they will perform there?
I ran on snow tires a few times. they are soft, too soft! Also, there is less of a contact patch to work with.
I spun and had to really work at launching. this with awd as well! The Kumho MX's have given me some 1.7 60's, on 18's!
