Default GOT my NEW CIVIC!!!! Need Help

I recently just got a 2000 honda civic ex. Siver Everything runs good. But i looked at another posting and it said the engine had vtec but my head does not have the oem vtec valve cover. Does this mean my engine is not vtec. And what is the bolt pattern for civics? My brother recently bought me Brand New Black Rota Track R with Brand New Tires but i guess he got the bolt pattern wrong because its not fitting on my civic. Help please!!

96-00 Civic EX valve covers don't say VTEC on them.

Look to see if your engine code on the block is D16Y8, if it is, you have a SOHC VTEC.

Bolt pattern is 4x100.

unless someone swapped the engine in your car, it has a d16y8- a 1.6l vtec engine running at 9.6:1 compression ration with 127hp and 107tq at the crank. the valve cover doesnt say it, but you do have vtec.

the wheel bolt pattern is 4x100, i think the offset is 45

*edit* /\ beat me to it because im slow at looking up offset info

you have had an ls vtec ...
a swapped hatch ...
and yet dont know these things ?
sorry if i sound like a dick, but its just strange to me ...

dunno if you can find out if the timing belt was replaced w/o records ..
maybe you can, but usually i think its a good idea to replace it when you buy used cars
