Default removing cat after tune?

i wanted to take out my high flow cat and put in a test pipe. would this have a major issue on my tune? i'm just gonna run a straight 2.5inch test pipe.

currently i have a 3inch to 2.5inch downpipe with flexpipe, then my 2.5 high flow cat, and then my 2.5inch apexi gt spec exhaust.

should i just leave my cat on for now? or test pipe will be ok?

anything that you are going to change I recomend you to do it before you get tuned not after , so that wheen they tune it everything flows together a test pipe is the way to go if you want to free up some horsepower but watch out for the emission police that fine is about ten thousand dollars if you get caught thats all but I havent seen any issues with anyones car that made a switch like that you will be fine

Any changes made to the setup will typically need a retune. Removing the cat will make you run leaner...possibly even dangerously leaner. I would take it back afterwards for a little touch up to the maps.

if you have a wideband on your car then just remove it and see how much it affects your tune...

a wideband is one of the best investments you can make for your car if you dont have one.

that is exactly what I tried to say but it didnt come out right my fault if you put any parton the car like a testpipe or biiger intercooler etc after you get tuned you do definitly need a retune dont risk riding around lean thats what I meant before i said you will be fine

any change you make to the exhaust will affect the tune , boost will come on sooner and might be lean in some spots , but the only way to know is get it on a wideband

good info. thanks guys. i couldn't figure out why i would run leaner. but a quicker spool was the answer i needed to hear. and now on me for selling my plx m500 wbo2.

i'm just gonna put on the test pipe, hit up a dyno and see how the a/f looks. if it's pretty dangerous, i'll just throw the cat on...
