my friends 97 civic hx has i guess a "sticky clutch", it doesnt always go into gear. first gear is nearly impossible to get into now. any ideas as to why this is, or how to fix it?

Start with the simplest solution. Just bleed the clutch fluid and see where that puts you. Make sure you're not leaking any fluid on your firewall from your master cylinder and check under the hood on the slave. If everything looks good there, then resort to the tranny fluid. That's just my two cents.
