Default tacometer fluctuates after 3000 rpm

Hi,
I have a problem with my 1992 Honda accord's tachometer. It start to fluctuate at 3000 rpm and the engine seems to have some hesitation.it is more felt under load like up the hill. The ignitor was replaced under the previous owner by an aftermarket ignitor by Gregg's japanes auto.I thought initially the ful filter was clogged but the problem is electrical.
Any thoughts?

Thanks
Charles

Aftermarket ignitors are not of same quality has factory. Check the connectors on the ignitor first. These can loosen upon replacement and cause you problem. If the connetions are tight and the ignitor is ok the problem is most likely in your coil.

yes, possibly try putting some dieelectic grease on the terminals for the ignitor (ignition control module) and make sure the connections from the wires are firm...
if not, a faulty ignition coil could be the cause....
