handling 15s w/195/55/15 vs. 16's 205/45//16
i dont know really all that much BUT i do know that if it was the same wheel, you would have 2 downsides upon acceleration:
-you have more rotational mass
-the mass is located further out from the pivot point (the axle) requiring more force to turn

Obviously the 16" tire is going to handle better. Wider contact patch and shorter, less flexible sidewall.
Now of course a 15" sticky tire is going to handle better than a 16" crappy all season tire, but in general the 16" lower profile will be better.

Which tyres are you referring to?
BTW, the skill level of the driver will play a far larger role than this particular detail of car setup. If you're concerned with such trivial details, I hope you're autocrossing or doing high performance driving events on a road course.

do they make azenis in 205/45 16???
i know they come in 205/50 15...
youre tire selection is more important than the actual size right now...
so id go w/ 15s...cheaper wheels and tires

ok check this out, stock tire size is 195/55/15, if i go to 16 rims since i am adding 1 inch to the rim wouldnt i minus 1 inch of tire, and that would be 205/30/16? since 25mm=1 inch? i am just asking, i never looked into buying rims, i always had stock..

nope..
the second number is a ratio, not a measurment...
it is the ratio of the width of the tire to the height of the sidewall..so the larger the second number is, the taller the sidewall is...but it is not a direct measurment of the sidewall, unlike the first number which is a direct measurement of the width of the tire

That funny guys cause I just post a tread that talk about the same size and tire brand... It's in the autocross section...
For DC2...Azenis rt615 = 205/40/16...215/45/16...225/50/16...
Depending on how much drop you got on your car... Right now, after all the anwser I had, the best way to go seems to be 205/40/16 or 215/45/16... The only thing is will the 215/45/16 will rub a bit under hard cornering...
Hope this help.... But go make a check a the other tread...there is good link for the conversion...

Since you didn't list any track experience, I'm going to assume you don't have any.
If this is the case, don't worry about which tyre size is better. As a driver you won't be able to tell the difference. Just go with whatever is cheaper.
