B20 with a vtec head?
so a b20 block will bolt to a vtec head right, and will the block bolt to a b16a transmission? well i think my b16a block is warped, anyone know anything about b16's warping or anything, and what do you guys think i should put back in the car?
well i bought the car barely running, and when i tore it down, it had a busted valve, so i replaced the valves, and had the head decked. now when i put i back together, water in oil, and barely running, in time, and it just doesnt have the power it should when you drive it down the road.
never heard of a block getting 'warped'
it could be that the head is warped, my suggestion is get it checked properly to see if it is or not.
water in oil? check for cracked cylinder sleeves. B20's have been know for their weak sleeves but that's under high circumstances like a turbo or a very high HP NA setup.

he thinks its his B16 block thats warped, thats why he wants to know if he can just replace the block with a b20 block

well theres only a couple reasons there can be water in the oil. the most common one is that you have a incorrect/blown head gasket. That you have a cracked/warped head. Or that you have a cracked cylinder sleeve... id do a coolant presssure test first to make sure that the oil wasnt there from before you tore it down.. then do the test to see if you have cumbustion gasses in your coolant, that will tell you if you have head/headgasket problems

wouldnt they be the same engine, b20b an b20z... just b20z has higher compression due to different pistons an different manifold....which would give it more power... right?

I heard that that thing about the B20 having thin walls was bullshit and that they were the same size as the LS walls O.o
Just what I've been hearing on the contrary the statement of them being thin...
Yeah, the B16 head'll bolt right on, yeah, the B16 tranny will bolt right up..
As for the head being warped, if it's got reason to be warped, then just deck it...but other than that...it's not prone to warping more than any other engine...at least as far as I know...
