Default everythings hooked up, no vtec?

i've had all my turbo junk in for like a week or so (with no charge pipes) for a while. for some reason, i can't hit vtec. it makes noooo sense.

yes, the oil lines are connected properly. no, there are no leaks. yes, the car is warmed up. yes, there is an adequate amount of oil in the engine.

its a GSR motor/EG hatch if it matters, which i don't really think it does. but when i go for the vtak it just goes.. DUHDUHDUHDUHDUH, of vtec opening and closing, and it scares me. lol

your oil pressure may be low...your bearings may be fucked...put an oil pressure gauge on it

uhh.. yes?

the charge pipes are disconnected because i do not have it tuned yet. this is what's holding me back. vtec worked fine before i put things in. when i get to 4400 (its a GSR) it makes that open/closing sound of vtec, where the exhaust pulses louder/quieter very quickly from the solenoid trying to engage vtec but something is preventing it.

and thanks OMG b16, i'll try some of those things out at school on monday.

Do you have your turbo hooked up with no charge pipes?

yes yes i don't have em on. im a poser. lol

i did have them on, went to the dyno, found out my downpipe was too small (exhaust was pulsing and the O2 couldn't get a reading) so i drove back and took em off because my i'd rather not accidently boost 5psi into my motor. and it's my daily driver so they're off and i've got the new downpipe on, but i need to figure out why vtec aint workin

tell me you have the wastegate open so the turbo isn't spooling crazy rpm.

You will overspin your turbo with no charge pipes hooked up. Hook then up asap, and just dont floor your car. Stay out of boost.
