Default Can I use this piston now???

I was measuring my clearances today. Was tapping the Eagle rod caps back & forth to get them separated for the rods cause they were pretty well stuck on there. It was going fine, then my friend decided to get all He-Man on one of them....ripped the rod cap off but slammed the piston into the engine stand.

Is this usable?? If not, is it possible to buy a single replacement SRP anywhere??

thats still usable. Im assuming since you are using SRP, that you're not planning on big power/high boost anyways. You might get hot spots in those areas, but you're on low boost anyways and most likely not going to experience any trouble.

Smoothen it out a bit so theyre not as rough, but it should be cool.

OK that's good news. I didn't know if they had some coating that I shouldn't sand off or something.....

Why? Shitty piston? They're 9.2:1 CR

I'm shooting for at least 250whp daily on an LS....

no not shitty. theyre just not made for high hp applications. SRP are the budget pistons. I wouldnt use them if planning big power. but you are good for 250hp.

I'm not sure what people are talking about, I've seen SRP pistons on 300-450hp hondas, but I have'nt seen any on the 500+hp honda. So what's considered High horsepower these days, and what hp are SRP good too?

theres a dremel tool that is a bit made out of "rubber" and is used to finely sand down metal
use that on there to get the rough-ness out
that can be used, no biggy
hot spots happen on sharp edges
smooth it out and you will be golden

alot of engine builders will say that SRPs are kept to HP levels under 250hp. im sure it can handle more, thats not impossible. but once you are going for more power, they choose JE, Arias, Wiseco, CPs.

High HP in my opinion is 350+
