Default Ignition timing control with VAFC

I'm looking into getting an Apexi VAFC, but was shot down in the all motor forum b/c you can't control timing. I really don't want Hondata or Crome though. I have no laptop to tune with and don't want to spend the $$ to have someone else tune it. Also, I don't want something so permanent. I would prefer to get a VAFC and another unit to tune timing with. Then I can adjust my tune to my liking at the touch of a few buttons. I searched and found Apexi made a SITC (super ignigtion timing controller) but it's no longer in production. Anyone know where to get one, or anything else I could use for timing? Everything else I searched brought up the MSD BTM, but I'm all motor.

Anytime you're messing with the MAP input, you're messing with fuel AND timing...at the same time. That's the problem - they can't be dialed in seperately using the VAFC. Speed-Density metered fuel systems use MAP and RPM as the two inputs to look up a base fuel injector pulse width and ignition timing value.
