Shift Light wiring?
my speedometer doesnt have a tach, but im thinking of making a custom red shift light in the cluster
just wondering where is the signal wire?
and would that be the power wire aswell?
and then id just ground it

this is for autometer shift lite
black -ground
red - 12 v power
white- light illumination
green-tach signal wire
it is the blue wire on the dist i believe

my idea is to take one of the spaces on the cluster like the SRS light (since i dont have airbags anymore) and making the bulb, light up at redline basically w/o a tach.
would i need a relay?
for the power, signal and ground?
thanks again

would this work? also id have a inline fuse going from the battery of course
so thats power and ground, and then one side from the blue wire of the dizzy (signal) to the bulb in the cluster

You'll need an rpm activated switch.

yeah, that would work if you can figure out what the exact voltage is in the tach wire when you're at redline.
