Default Extremely low gearing

Hi guys, first time Honda owner previous owner of RX7s. I bought a 90 Civic Si with a B18a turboed. The gearing in the car is ridiculously low. The top speed is MAYBE 120mph in 5th at over 7000rpms. Any ideas if this is a stock tranny? I haven't checked the tranny for any tags yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Honda motors are high end beasts, hence trannies that'll keep the motor revved as high as possible. If you drop your rpms down to 4k when you shift, you're gonna limp along.

well if you dont want it I'm sure I could take it off your hands for you

its stock sounding to me and hondas have 0 torque the need insane short gears to scoot and that they do.

Could be stock. Mine is at about 4300 rpm at 80 ish. What markings are on the tranny? Hydro or tranny?

The only reason I asked is, my friend has an 90 integra with a b18a and his gearing is a lot steeper than mine. I haven't checked it for any tags or markings yet. I'm going to hang on to the tranny cuz I have sold the turbo setup and I'm going the all motor route. Turbo Hondas are a dime a dozen around here and there is not a single built all motor Civic, let alone a 4th gen.
