The B18A and B blocks don't have factory knock sensors.

 

I found both those threads during my search, but i was under the impression that B18B's without the 1 are JDM engines and I thought that might affect it. No? =/

 

LS engines do not need knock sensors, since the compression is low enough for regular fuel. Engines like the b16 and GSR have fairly high compression, and need premium fuel for best performance. The knock sensor listens to the combustion, and detects detonation caused by less than premium fuel. If it detects detonation, it will add fuel, and reduce the timing to get out of detonation. LS engines won't detonate with regular fuel, so the need isn't there.
