Default 98 accord lights

hi i have a 98 accord lx and i have a problem with my interior lights on my dash. On my cluster my 3 main gauges isn't on, my ac lights dont work and my clock light dont work. does anyone know where the problem is and how i can fix it?? i checked all my fuses and i changed all my bulbs so i think it should be a wire problem. this all happened when i changed my radio without using a wire harness and my friend cut my wires and it sparked when he cut the ground. so i dont know what to do now

This is generally why manufacturers say to disconnect the battery before installation... so someone can't do something stupid like this, I mean, accidentally do something like this. Sparked when he cut the ground, huh? Sounds more like he cut a power and ground wire at the same time, and shorted it out with the wire cutters. Again, not a wise move.

Check fuses again, as mentioned. Otherwise, have fun tracing wires and hunting for burnt ones...

1.) check fuses and make sure you stuck them in the right places

2.) yes check the wiring

3.) when you where changing your radio you could of shorted something out

4.)get a voltage meter for wires and test the wires

Hence, "it sparked"

Could be your ground. Might want to give your t-stat ground a check if those year accords have one.

Not 100% sure on this but i heard if the bulbs you put in don't light up take them out and put them back in 180 degrees from the way u pulled them out. apperently there is a Negative and Positive connector on the bulbs, its more then likely you have + with + and - with -. give it a try.

1. Why would someone cut factory wiring?
2. Use a wiring harness for radios so you can wire it in the house.
3. Using a wiring harness you will never have exposed wires in the car.
4. If you're dumb enough to cut factory wires disconnect the battery.
6. If he shorted out the radio wires the underhood fuse labeled RADIO should fix the problem.
7. There is also an ACC fuse which may have shorted.
8. Friends don't let friends ruin factory wiring.

"Idiots with tools", and "cars". You gotta keep em separated. A little bad music humor.
