Default Transmission Problem

Wondering what I should do about my transmission

about a month ago I just about ran out of transmission fluid and just made it home in 5th gear becuz it wouldn't shift into any other gear and I didn't want to force it. I had a leak but since fixed it.

So when I got home I put fluid in it and it started working fine no problems what so ever except a really high pitch noise when I'm in 5th. It wasn't hard to shift into but it just keeps making this high pitch noise and when I'm in 5th gear long enough it kicks out of 5th and into neutral...

some of my friends said its enternal and others said that I should just flush the tranny and put new fluid in it (Honda tranny fluid).

so my question is what is the problem? what should I do? and if it is just a flush what is the exact name of the fluid and do I get it from the honda dealer or somewhere easier?

thanx alot for the help

Usually running GM Syncromesh is what people say to use and sometimes people lose grinds into gears, but as far as popping out of gear i think ur tranny is gonna take a dump on you soon bro

if it pops out of gear it can be a few things Shift linkage worn or misadjusted, Pilot bushing worn , shift fork, lever and/or shaft is bent or worn, transmission bearings, worn synchroizers hubs or broken key, bell housing, not enough spring tension or detent springs, or excessive play in output shaft bottom line either remove and rebuild or start saving. Driving without fluid in the tranny is almost as bad as driving without oil how far u drive without fluid ?
