Default Screeching sound coming from right rear wheel well at irregular times?

I would think its the brake pad wear indicator, but the problem is, I get this annoying metal on metal screeching noise at irregular times when driving my car. It happens on the freeway when cruising past 70 mph and also at slower speeds when slowing down. When I am cruising on the freeway at 70mph and it is making a noise, usually if i hit a reflector in the road, the sound will go away temporarily and go back. I can also get rid of the sound if I pull on my ebrake slightly at 70 mph, once again it goes away temporarily and comes back again. Very strange.

My question is whether the brake pad could be putting pressure on the rotor to make that screeching sound even if I am not on my brakes?

Possibly a bearing.

from the looks/sound of it, it's your pad wear indicators. checking pads is an easy task. if you've never done it, it's great to learn how. if it is the wear indicators, best thing to do is get some new pads.

the noise may be temporarily going away when you hit a "bump" since the caliper piston, pad, etc. may just be getting "rattled" and not applying the "resting pressure" on the rotor. if it continually comes back, it's mostly likely your pads are out.

if they're your original pads and your car has high mileage, they're due.

bearing seems unlikely...otherwise the screeching would persist.
