MINI ME VTEC
i am working on my swap, and i just wanta pass on some info to ya, so ur swap can go as easy as mine did......using a d16y8 head.......3 things........
1st.
take out the oil doul & oring when ur at your block....inbetween cylinders 2 and 3 on intake side. because vtec requires more oil pressure. (if not, u will blow up motor.)
2nd
on distributor. round out holes on mounting brackets. you need to advance timing so ******* much. ur car will not run on stock setting....(i think its advanced 12 to 15.)
3rd
use a eg si timing belt......(ef's is too small and ek's is too big)
like i said, this is only to help anyone out....i did all of this and im runing a very low 15sec. 1/4 mile with built bottem end on NA tune d15b1........remember. only to help you guys out. im a jdm guy, not speed....thats why i have the turbo II 13b for that.....lol
thanks
matt
( also, u can use the EF'S intake manifold, PGMFI ( THE SI ) just use ek gasket.
