Wheel bearing problems??

Wheel bearing problems??
I think I've narrowed down the terrible noise/sqeak coming from my driver side rear wheel to the wheel bearing. I was just wondering if anyone else has had to replace it or had trouble with them. Car is an 01 with about 58K on the clock.

After doing some more reading I seen that the hub is usually worn out on most cases as well. Cars been parked havnt had time to take it apart yet. You guys think I should order both right away or have you had or heard of just one or the other needing to be replaced?

it's not just 00-01 model years but all model years that are heavily tracked and run very sticky tires (hoosier, RA1s, etc).

If the car has seen a lot of track time then both may require replacement. I'd fix the side that is failing, and worry about the other side if you get symptoms. Unless you're tracking the car now and need to do preventative maintenance, fix the worn out bearing and don't worry about the other side.

Actually the main reason that the wheel bearing/hub failure is ocurring is because on the older S2K's the axle nut was torqued from the factory to 181 ft/lbs. Honda has stated that the axle nut needs to be retorqued to 221 ft/lbs. The rear wheel bearing and the hub are not seated tight enough and the bearing wears the hub out. I am going through the same thing on my 2000 with only 27k and no track miles or abuse.
The bearings are basically going because the nut was never updated to the 221 ft/lbs of torque that they need to be at.
You most likely need the hub and bearing.
