Default good turbo setup for d16a6

im looking for some tips on a good spooling turbo setup for the d16a6 im going to try and do mine custom. im looking to make 225-300hp but first im building my motor for heavy boost and while im doing that im looking for a good setup to support that much horsepower and be worth it. and yes my car is a daily driver but i want it to be my weekend warrior. of course ill start at low boost but want to have the potential too increase while im getting used to boost.

i'm doing the same thing with the same motor.
the t28 turbo is an excellent turbo because it spools quickly around 3k, and doesn't run out of breathe easily. A t3 also works well.

if you want 300hp, a t28 is way too small.

youd be able to achieve that goal with a t3/t4 turbo with a higher a/r.

expect some lag if you want that power, and tuning will be the key for sure, there is a lot of info available on turbo D setups.

click search in red at the top right, and youll be amazed what youll find.

Yes the invidia will have an affect..I saw a dyno one of a car that had 2.5" downpipe and a 2.35" catback,,and it made like 300whp,,Put on a 3" downpipe back and picked up like 50whp and the spool time was faster and lowered the exhaust temperature..I saw that dyno graph somewhere on evans-tuning.com..

I think you should go with a t3/t4e 50 trim..Or if you have alot of $$$$ the Gt28rs A.K.A. discopotatoe would be perfect..

Im actually getting ready to build a custom ghetto turbo system for my d16a6. Gonna be running really low boost on it because the internals are totally stock, probably around 6-8psi. I have a 14b turbo, dsm injectors, 1g dsm IC (ill probably save and buy a decent ebay fmic), 1g dsm bov, a cx manifold w/ adapter plate, and making all of my own u-bend pipes.

What size pipes should I use for the charge pipes? What size downpipe and exhaust should I run? Im not looking for insane power, maybe 160-180 whp if possible. Is it possible?

I would do between 2"-2.25" chargepiping,,And a 2.5" downpipe flared to 3",,then 3" exhaust..
