Default b16a ecu question

My vtec went out in my b16 eg...its a usdm b16, the wiring is similar to a 95 del sol si...code is 21 and there is no signal from the ecu to the vtec solenoid so I need a new ecu..my question is what ecu to get...which are compatible with a manual b16a motor...I am going to open it tomorrow to get the factory number but any help would be appreciated *edit* the ecu is a p30 sir ll b16a2 ecu**

Check to see if maybe the vtec solenoid wire came loose before you go and purchase a new ecu..

But as far as an ecu to replace it,,A chipped p28 always works..Its kind of hard to find the obd1 del b16a3 ecus and jdm obd1 sir2 b16 ecus,,so look for a chipped p28 ..

its not a wiring problem I took it to a shop and they did a diagnostic on the car....so p28 and p30 will work? even if its jdm ecu on a usdm motor?

just curious... how exactly did you check if the solenoid is getting a signal?

which shop did the diagnostic on the car?

jdm or usdm ecu will work, obd1 or obd2 would work, but then you may need a conversion harness.

i wouldn't look at the ecu just yet.

any p30 as long as its an 5 spd or chipped automatic p30 (jdm). You can use a usdm p30 but hard to find and $$$(shameless plus...Hey I selling a usdm p30 lol). When you can use a chipped p28 with a p30 program.

Check your oil level just in case. Vtec wont activate with low oil pressure.
