Default EM1 With P28 Chipped ECU + JDM B18C ... Code 22, Help !!!

Hi folks,

I am in desperate need of some help here. As the title suggests I have a 99 EM1 (OBD2B) running a 96 B18C (ITR) engine. This is done via a rywire.com conversion harness running a mild ITR program.

As soon as I start the car I get a code 22. There is plenty of oil and I do not get this code with either of my OBD2B/A ecu's. VTEC does not engage and the car runs like crap (bogs and stutters).

What the hell is going on ? Do I need to re-pin anything ? I am desperate to get this fixed as it is driving me mad. Any suggestions ? Has anyone had these problems before ?

Your help here would be greatly appreciated !!!

It sounds like you need to get in contact with Rywire.com to figure out what went wrong. If they gave you the harness then they might have forgot to wire up VTEC.

Having read little more it looks like I may well have to jump some wires in order for this to work. Looks like the JDM engine does not have a VTEC pressure switch but the P28 looks for one.

Anyone have any diagrams of how this should be done ?

Thanks folks,

Is it a pre 96 or post ? I hear post 96 motors do not. Some have them retrofitted in order to run with the USDM P28.
